Louis Yeo | Music Director
Louis Yeo is a respected conductor and music educator based in Singapore. He is currently the Resident Conductor of National Institute of Education Winds (NIE Winds), Nanyang Polytechnic Symphony Wind Orchestra, and Associate Conductor of Nanyang Polytechnic Symphony Orchestra. Yeo has conducted many ensembles in Singapore, as well as in other countries such as the United States and Japan. He has also collaborated with distinguished international musicians, including multi-Grammy Award winner Charlie Haden's Liberation Music Orchestra, and worked with renowned composers like Eric Whitacre, Philip Sparke, and Frank Ticheli.
Yeo received his Masters of Music (Education) from Kansas State University, where he studied music education under Dr. Philip Payne and Dr. Ruth Gurgel. He also received training in conducting from several accomplished conductors, including Frank Tracz, Jacomo Bairos, Donald Linn, Volker Hartung, and received masterclasses from renowned wind music giants such as Virginia Allen, Allan McMurray, Christopher Hughes, Hardy Martens, and Yasuhide Ito. In addition to his conducting and band directing commitments, Yeo is also an active adjudicator and clinician, and an adjunct Faculty at National Institute of Education (NIE).
Yeo's track record as a conductor and collaborator, as well as his commitment to music education, has made him a sought-after figure in Singapore's music scene. He is known for his indefatigable work ethic and has been praised for his ability to inspire and lead musicians to achieve outstanding performances. Yeo's dedication to his craft and his passion for music has earned him the respect of his peers and students alike.
Yeo Jie Yuan | Conductor
Mr Yeo Jie Yuan began his band music education in Maha Bodhi School under the guidance of Mr Quek Boon Hui. Mr Yeo continued his band music education in Manjusri Secondary School. Mr Yeo went on to perform with various bands including the Philharmonic Youth Winds, National Institute of Education Symphonic Band, Moulmein Winds Symphony, Novo Winds, Le Band, West Winds and The Band Directors' Association Singapore Wind Orchestra (BDASWO).
He graduated from National Institute of Education (NIE) where he attained the Specialist Diploma in Band Directing. Currently, he is a Master of Music Leadership graduate student at the National University of Singapore – Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music (NUS-YST).
Jie Yuan, currently serving as the Associate Music Director at the PassionArts AudioImage Wind Ensemble, has played a pivotal role in guiding numerous schools to achieve accolades of distinction award in the Singapore Youth Festival Arts Presentation. He is serving as a council member at the Executive Council of the Band Directors' Association (Singapore).
Jie Yuan is an active clinician, locally and internationally, with a vision to build a cohesive and sustainable community through wind band activities.
